Mission Statement:

It is the mission of Ocean Springs Lacrosse Inc., DBA Southern Elite Lacrosse, to serve the players in Ocean Springs and areas of the Mississippi Gulf Coast (Jackson County, Harrison County and Hancock County). We are founded with the mission to provide resources and the framework for players of all abilities to learn the game of lacrosse in a safe environment. It is our mission to fuel the sport's growth and enrich the experience of the participants. It is our goal to focus on cultivating players with integrity and to synergistically integrate the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model to ensure the natural progression of physical and mental growth patterns for players in the age groups we serve.

The Lacrosse Athlete Development Model 

Providing every athlete the opportunity to enter, enjoy and excel by learning and playing lacrosse in a way that is best for each stage of growth and development. The model disrupts today's model of diminishing opportunity and CREATES a model of participation that provides opportunity for all, for life. The model seen below (as published by US Lacrosse) aims to keep more players engaged with the sport longer, allowing the best players to emerge as they reach physical maturity. The goal is to avoid identifying the best players at early ages and leaving potential players behind and giving limited opportunity to play. It gives players a chance to grow and mature, learn and develop.
